The client’s brief, for their large double fronted house, was to ‘combine Australian sophistication with the more traditional elements associated with a period property’.
The house has been extensively refurbished from first floor level down and includes a new full footprint basement level. The latter accommodates a bespoke bar, gym, cinema room, bedroom with en-suite and a services and utility room. The first floor consists of an open plan master bedroom and bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, dressing room and an office.
There are a number of impressive features in the house including, the brass and Carrara marble island unit in the kitchen, the projecting bay window to the first-floor master suite, a double height internal courtyard, which allows natural light to flood the middle of the basement, and the industrial-style concrete and timber feature staircase.
